Open attachment

An email message with an attachment (Word) is sent to 2 users.
When a user opens the attachment, it takes 5 seconds to get it opened. It is
the same when this user uses different PCs to open it. But the other user can
open it right away from his mailbox. Any idea?

Most likely the first user is running a virus scanner that integrates with
Office applications and delays the opening of the file by doing a scan. You
can disable this type of integration as it is redundant. Default Office
security and an up-to-date on-access scanner is sufficient.

As I said; probably because it integrates with Office applications. The lag
depends on the way your anti-virus application has implemented its solution.
This could be different based on the document type and its contents.
