Open Adobe file link from IE 6 and getting "File not Found"

I am able to save document to desktop and open from desktop. I tried
reloading Adobe and still getting error. When I try to open the Adobe file

It looks like it is saving it to a temp location and then the system gets
confused and reports "file not found"
 
I have multiple PCs doing this and on a couple of them MS Excel is also
having the same symptoms.
