I'm guessing you need to rename the file from

whateveritisnow.pps to whateveritiscalled.PPT

If what TAJ said does not cure the problem, then you may need to change the
file association from the PowerPoint Viewer to PowerPoint program by right
clicking on the file, select properties and change the Opens with to
Microsoft Office PowerPoint.

dont work

You'll have to help us help you. You're at the PC, we're not.

Unless you tell us more than "dont work" we haven't a clue what's happening and
can't offer any help.

Start Powerpoint.
From the main menu, choose File, Open
Browse to the file that's giving you trouble and choose it.

What happens?
