Hi,

I have a database file created in the Access 2003 version, now I try to open
it on the Access 2007 version. It only allows me to view, but not edit. What
did I do wrong and can not make any changes on the new version? Thanks!

Is the directory where the database resides marked as 'trusted'? Try adding
the directory to the trustcentre settings. Go to the Office button - Access
Options - trustcenter - trustcenter settings (on the right side of the
screen) - trusted locations (on the left) - add trusted location.

See if that helps...

Thanks! It works.

Could I ask you another question? I try to use the navigation Pane, I found
the path: Access file button/Access Options/Current Database/then check on
the Display Navigation Pane check box/OK, there was a message box asking for
close the database, I did. After I reopened the database, the navigation pane
did not displayed and I checked it again with the same path as above, the
Navigation check box was unchecked. How can I make the Navigation Pane
display?

Thanks!
