ONLY Single usage/launch/session of IE6 on WinXP Pro SP2

For some reason, my IE6 SP1+ in WinXP Pro SP2 won't allow multiple IE
sessions.
That is, everytime I launch a 'new' IE, it starts but then the active
session goes back to my home page. I've even tried File>Window>New with no
luck!!

Is there something that got 'turned-off'? I've done a virus scan (McAfee,
which is live all the time) and Ad-Aware SE but nothing shows. [FWIW: Last
thing I installed 'before' I noticed this was Macromedia's Shockwave, but
I've removed it via Add/Remove programs and rebooted. I really don't think
the Shockwave installation affected this, but who knows?]
Any guidance would be appreciated!
TIA,
Tom

Hi,
From IE> Tools> Internet Options> Advanced> Browsing> uncheck "Reuse windows
for launching shortcuts."

And... you probably have a program running which is blocking pop-up windows-
something like Yahoo Companion, Google toolbar, MSN toolbar, a firewall,
Earthlink (or another pop-up blocker) My IE2 (a shell for IE) etc.
Yahoo Companion is a very common cause.

You'll have to turn off the feature that's blocking new windows or, perhaps,
uninstall the program.

With some programs of this type, using Ctrl+click or Shift+click will allow
a new window.

For XP SP2 only...
Try this command from Start> Run (or Stat> Run> Cmd)
iexplore.exe /rereg [enter]
This reregisters all DLLs used by IE.

If you're *sure* that another program isn't causing this, these links may
help.
