Only 16-color display option is available

Somehow I deleted something called 'Sis display' - I
thought I would get the option to cancel the delete that I
pushed accidentally, but I didn't. The display set itself
to 16 colors, and the selector for color options in the
control panel only gives the 16-color and 2-color option.
I also cannot reset the display size. The deleted item is
not in the recycle bin and I can't find it in SFC. The
Sis icon just turned up in the tray one day, and I opened
it to find out what it was.

Have searched Microsoft help files all over the place, no
luck. How to go back 5 days and see what was deleted, or
how do I find and restore this item? Tried reloading
Windows - no change.

BTW where is the Win 98 newsgroup? This is the closest I
could find.

Please email me if you know the answer! Many thanks!

It sounds like you just need to reinstall the Sis video
display drivers again. That's what you deleted, it was
actually a hardware delete that you did. No problem, it
just deleted it from Windows, not from the motherboard!
lol Hopefully you have the Sis video display driver cd
somewhere.
