OneNote 2007 has screwed up my Outlook syncing with my PocketPC device!!!

All,
Ever since I installed the beta of OneNote, when I sync up Outlook with my Pocket PC, I no longer get the notes that are attaches to any Outlook item (Task\Calender\Contacts - notes\content field)!!!

Is their a way of correcting this behavior so i can get the notes contact field from my Outlook file to sync with my PocketPC.

Outlook 2007 & ActiveSync 4.2.0 (Build 4846) and FYI the PocketPC is a MDA. - CES

I removed Office 2003 and a beta of ActiveSync 4.2 before I installed Office 2007 & OneNote 2007 I then installed the Gold version of ActiveSync 4.2. - CES

What makes you think OneNote is to blame?

FWIW, someone else reported that syncing notes from Outlook 2007 to his
WM5 PPC wasn't working and I have this open as bug with Microsoft. He
tried everything (ActiveSync 3.8, 4.1, 4.2; reinstalling, etc) with no
luck. Only going back to Outlook 2003 restored the functionality.

I obviously can't be sure but I originally posted a version of this question to the PocketPC newsgroup "Office 2007 Beta and ActivSync 4.2, not appending notes." and Dave seemed to be rather atemit the the issue was OneNote. - CES

With beta code, I wouldn't be sure that removal of OneNote would totally
restore things if that is what the issue is. I guess the real question is,
was the AS/PPC sync tested thoroughly with Outlook 2007 (not even
considering the rest of Office 2007) which is a Beta, before loading OneNote
2007 BETA and having issues. If you are pretty sure that it was OK
pre-OneNote and not post OneNote, then by all means, submit a bug. I think
you would be hard pressed to have anyone here with a solution, if it indeed
is a bug.

Notice that the OP is talking about the notes within Contact/Calendar
entries, not Notes per se. Big difference, and kind of odd, that OneNote
would have any effect on just one field in a database record.

Sorry, I wasn't exact enough. I am referring to the same note fields,
not actual Outlook notes.

OK, just checking. I am actually having issues with Notes sync (Outlook
2007) and I am syncing OneNote Mobile, but I'm doing it with Vista and WMDC,
so it isn't of much value here.

Just in case anyone else is having this problem... the problem resides not with OneNote 2007 but with Outlook 2007(or possibly with ActiveSync 4.2 but I don't have the time to repeat all of these steps with an older version of ActiveSync)!!

My First Attempted was to see if removing OneNote** would solve the issues. Unfortunately this didn't resolve the problem.

I then tried removing Office 2007** and and then reinstalling it. Same problem.

I then went to a clean computer, one that has never had the beta installed and removed Office 2003** and then installed only Outlook Beta. Still no notes!!

**I then remove ActiveSync, a Hard Reset the PocketPC and reinstall ActiveSync.

Just to refine the issue a bit... I've noticed that (Task\Contact\Calender) Notes created on the PocketPC are transfered correctly back to the Outlook file when you sync the two entities. However if you edit the note in any way on the PC, when you sync the PocketPC again, all notes data will be deleted.

If anyone has some other thoughts on the issue please let us know. - CES

If you look at my previous post it pretty much encapsulates what I've tried... the only thing that is missing is that I also had the beta of MS Search installed, which seems to be required, when I became aware of the problem .
However the gist of this is That outlook 2007 Calender\Tasks\Contacts - Notes\Content field, doesn't update on the PocketPC correctly.

I also found that Outlook '07 Beta through three activesync versions (3.8,
4.1, and 4.2) all do not sync down to PocketPC Smartphone 2003 (samsung i600)
but do sync up, what you also notice is sometimes in outlook the note when
you save it dissappears when the phone is in the cradle i've even changed
Activesync settings to always sync down to the handheld... anyone w/ advice
pls advise, personally I believe its a problem w/ Outlook '07, thoughts?

Could very well be a problem with Activesync that has not been optimized to
run with BETA software. Once Office 2007 is released, I expect most
problems to have been sorted, with only the most esoteric ones remaining to
be solved.
