One user account slow

I have a computer here that has four users on it. Three of them are working
fine but the other one is dragging terribly. It takes forever for any
application to open. When you close a window it just rolls off gradually
from the top down. Sometimes leaving a blank space where it was which
eventually fills back in. If I check Task Manager when a program is trying
to load, system idle process is always from 95-99, so I can't get a clue
from there. Basically all the processes that are running are the same ones
that are running in all the other user accounts.
It's XP Pro, SP2. 2.4 Ghz, 256 Mb ram.
Anyone have any ideas why this would be happening in just ONE user account?

Try running Ad-Aware or a Disk Cleanup under that particular user. It could
be something in the temp folders, or some other bug slowing it down. Also,
try clearing your IE Temp Files (Tools - Options - Delete Temp Files). Hope
this helps. :o)

Interestingly enough, I first noticed it was when I was opening AdAware.
It was always the first thing I ran when I went to that account. When I
first got the computer in I could see that this kid had been to some
nasty places, so I ran it on his account first. No one would believe the
total so I posted a screen shot at http://www.mewnlite.com/aaw.gif -
10,674. Anyway, since you mentioned temp files, I went to D&S\username
\application data\lavasoft and found a HUGE quarantine file. I deleted
that (and everything else in there while I was at it) and that took care
of the problem! AdAware comes right up now, and so does everything else.
I was always running Adaware first. Apparently it has to "load" that
quarantine file. Whatever it does, it was carrying on into whatever else
you tried to do after you got out of AdAware.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
