Just installed DSL in an office of 8 users. Each user
connected with WinXP to SBC DSL modem/router provided by
vendor. DSL output has 2 lines one to ISP and other to
HP8000 printer. Seven users can ping HP8000 printer's
address, but one user cannot. The one user has plugged
his laptop into other user's line to no avail. Others
have plugged into his line and can ping the printer. All
users came from dial-up prior to DSL. We believe this is
a network problem on the one PC, but all workstations have
the same network config. Network addresses from DHCP have
been flushed. Looking for network things to check.

Please provide ipconfig information for the problem computer, and for one other
(working) computer.
Start - Run - "cmd". Type "ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt" into the command
window - Open c:\ipconfig.txt in Notepad, copy and paste into your next post.

From the problem computer, test connectivity:
1) Ping another by name.
2) Ping another by ip address.
3) Ping itself by name.
4) Ping itself by ip address.
5) Ping 127.0.0.1.
6) Ping the router.
Report success / failure of each test (12 tests total).

Cheers,
Chuck
Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.
