"One or more margins are outside the printable area"

T

Teddyberry

Every time we print out of Microsoft Word (2002), when we
do the page setup it tells us that “one or more margins
are outside the printable area of the page. Choose the
Fix to increase ….” , and when you do this it resets the
bottom margin to almost 3 inches (which is unacceptable).
When I choose ignore, it still gives me a 3 inch bottom
margin and cuts off the print. When we choose the fix we
get an unacceptable 3 inch bottom margin. The page setup
shows letter size, 8.5 x 11, and 1 inch margins all around.

What can we do to fix this problem? THANKS

The first thing I would do is check the troubleshooting
section in your printer manual. The printable area
messages are generated based on what printer you're using.

Except that in these instances the message is clearly baloney. No printer
has an unprintable area of 2.67", which is the margin most users are seeing
with these problems.
