one or more invalid names were detected in this work sheet

Every time I start up excel, it appears a warning "one or more invalid names
were detected in the work sheet. those invalid names have been changed to
#REF!".
What is problem? How to fix it up? Please help me.

Did this problem start happening when you opened the file in xl2007?

If yes, then maybe you can go back to xl2003 (or your earlier version) and fix
the names.

Some names that were legal in xl2003 (and below) are no longer valid in xl2007.

Could you have created a startup template with invalid cell references in a
formula or something like that?

Check your the help system for your version of Excel about startup templates.
