Hi, Every time i start up i get the same question asked, it says. Checking
file system on c: Type of file system is FAT 32. One of your disks needs to
be checked for consistency. Volume serial No is 882D-0D80 It is strongly
recomended that you continue. Windows will now check the disk. Windows is
now verifying files and folders. First allocation unit is not valid. The
entry will be truncated. I can cancel the check by pressing any key within
ten sec if i want to. I am running Windows xp home addition.

If you are allowing the check and after that the PC starts as normal I
assume it does the same thing next time. It may be the disk is failing you
should download the hard drive manufacturers testing tool. (most have them
on their website under utilities)
If the manufacturers software gives the drive a clean bill of health then is
the PC shutting down correctly that can cause the symptom you describe.

Hi

I have the same thing like john has mention about checking file system on C:
The type of the file system is FAT32...blah blah blah

Well with mine, it keep continuing after one finish, restart and then back
to the same thing again over and over again. It's really is wasting my time
as I dont have time for that nonsense. Is there anyway to disable that? I
know I can cancel it before 10 sec but I want that whatever that scan thing
call OFF.

And also when I tried to use Disk Defragment, I get this message pop up
"Disk Defragmenter cannot continue prescan because there is corruption in
file C:\FOUND.000". What on earth is that?

I am using Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2. Please do help me
and please use basic English language to explain things to me clearly.

Thanks
