Mr. Sanderson or any of the Guru's
Just received a notice from MS That I'm blessed for the one care beta
program
Wondering if there are any caveats I need to watch out for before or when I
install it. Currently XP pro Ms antispyware, SpyBot , Adaware paid version,
Spyware blaster, ewido, And Grisoft AV paid.
Thanks

Check out the legalities of what you are permitted to talk about and
where--most technical betas involve an NDA agreement, and shouldn't be
talked about outside the private groups provided for the beta. They've been
somewhat more relaxed about this in some recent beta's though--but read the
legalese carefully.

I don't know of any conflicts with any of the items you list.

Something that I read specified that it was specifically forbidden to run
more than one antivirus or firewall app--i.e. AVG/Grisoft (did you know
Intel just bought Grisoft?) along with OneCare. I've been running with it
as my sole protection, and it has done the job for me. I defninitely know
others running additional firewalls or antivirus along with OneCare.

The one thing that gives me some pause on your list is the ad-aware pro
active protection.

I would turn that off, and also turn off AVG during the installation
process, at a minimum.

Do not run two beta products on your computer at the same time. If you want
to try OneCare, remove MS Anti Spyware. If you have a problem with two beta
products installed, you may/will have difficulty getting them resolved. It
will not really help the development team of either product.

This is ordinarily a good rule. However, participants in OneCare should
read what that programs management has had to say about this specific issue.
Since there will be an antispyware component of OneCare.........
