Posting the url of the blocked website will enable people to check it
out for you. Without that, any answer will be just guessing. So what is
the url that is blocked?

I am having a very simular problem.
I get the msn serch page to come up and says that "we can't find
www.hcrealms.com "
the page can be accessed from home and on other machines in my office. I can
access any other site just not this one. This started last thursday.

Actually, it looks like it is them and not you. I went there (Firefox on
Linux) and the page starts to load but then doesn't load completely.
The only thing that shows up is a heading, "American TAB". It does the
same thing in Konqueror (another Linux file manager/browser). Then I
turned on my XP Pro box and went there with IE - same thing. Just for
fun, I tried Opera (also in XP) and the same thing.

So now you see why it was good to give the url, and now you see that you
are not going crazy. There's something wrong with their website. If
this is a company with which you do business, give them a call and ask
them what is going on.

Hey Thank you very much for your diligence on this problem. I was going crazy. I can get the website with dial-up and my old gateway(windows98). I'm going to try with dsl and see if that works. I'm going to call them too to see if they have got a fix. Thanks again.

I have a similar problem. Cannot access 2-3 web pages at www.coj.net. Got to
City Council and then to Legislative Bill Searches or go to Commitees and
Agendas. These pages are ASP web pages. Not know if that is problem, but
can't pull these pages up. Erratic. Sometimes yes/ sometimes no. McAfee, MS
and ISP been working almost 3 weeks and no solution. Have removed McAfee off
machine, reset everything, defragged, cleared cache, you-name-it, restored,
still can't access - but other friends can on their machines. Just started
happening around end of Aug/ start of Sept. I am exhausted with trying to
figure out what issue is. Everyone has thrown up hands and Tier 3 techs
working on it. Mystery. Have Windows XP. Used Opera and MSN browser and same
problem???

Here is a good one now that you mention ASP webpages. I downloaded Asp.net
and it is sucking up my memory (4095 MB) yes that's MB and I can't uninstall
it. When I try to uninstall it says I can't because it was not installed
correctly???So I'm stuck with this asp.net and I'm not smart enough to use
it. Hell, I can't even download it right or uninstall it! I think I
downloaded it last spring. HELP!!!

I am still stuck with my dilemma and even HP techs for MS not repair after

Well, I have had some success although I'm not sure which thing did the
trick.I can now access all the websites pages as long as I log on to aol and
go through it. I still can't access the website just using iNternet explorer.
If that helps anyone tofigure this out let me know otherwise I be "ignorance
is bliss"!!! Still wish someone could tell me how to get rid of ASSP.net. Oh,
I uninstalled net framework 1.1. Do you think that is what has messed up
ASSP.net and should I reinstall it to see if I can then uninstall ASSp.net, i
mean asp.net....

Well, I finally contacted Microsoft. It's $35 per incident. 1-800-936-5700.
Guaranteed. Give it a try. However- -I solved my problem by my own logic (am
former sys programmer) and it may be yours. It is a long story, but It was
the ISP. I convinced (finally) the ISP to change me to a different network
and that solved the problem. I had told them that was problem all along.
Today, I asked them to dial long distance to my local dial-in and then to set
up a sign-up icon, etc. with MY username and MY password and to become "me".
Well, they could not get to the asp pages either - -so we knew it was not my
computer. I had stripped all McAfee off my machine. It is their network. I
suggest you call your ISP and ask if can switch you to different network and
different dialup and see if that might work. If you have AOL, you probably
have one messed up computer and may never be the same. It is very, very
difficult to get rid of AOL if you ever try. As for the Asp.net file thingy,
call your ISP techs and hope they are good and friendly. Otherwise, call the
Microsoft folks above. For $35 per incident, that is good deal and they work
with you as long as needed, so they claim.

As for deleting/ removing that file, I don't know how savvy you are with
computers. But did you do a "windows explorer" search and find the path name?
If you find it displayed, highlight it and hit delete key with fingers. See
if that works. I presume you tried that?

Thanks Florida, for all your input. I haven't tried the windows explorer
search yet but will try it, then will call microsoft techs.
