On-line metric converter

I would like to have a metric converter on my web site. In other words,
someone could type in a given number of pounds, and it would convert it to
kilograms.

I thought of doing this with Excel, but having looked as the posts for Excel
on this discussion board, I suspect that there is a more elegant way of doing
this. In essence, all I need is the ability for the user to input a number on
a form or in a field, and after a simple multiplication, the result pops out
in another field.

Suggestions?
