Oldie but goodie

Hope this is not a recent repost........

A long time ago on a machine far away (Cyrix DX4-100) I downloaded and
installed a nifty graphics utility that worked great.

ImageView was downloadable from the PC Magazine site and many other places.
100% free it was great for fast alterations to the common graphics such as
jpeg, gif, etc. Resize, brighten, contrast..... just the basic stuff that is
all I need 99% of the time.

I put a shortcut to the program in my pic folder and just drag 'n drop the
pic and the program opens.

It worked on Win95, 98, 98SE and read elsewhere it works on ME. Don't know
about other O/S operability, though.

Anyway..... Image View has been a "must have" goody for me for many moons.
Thought that some reading here may not know about the program and may not
have been around when it was widely distributed.

Out of curiosity I went searching for a place to download the program. After
more than an hour and using several search terms I FOUND A PLACE!!!
Wheeeeee!!!!! Possibly the last place to download this program:

http://planetjeffrey.novawebhost.com/shellext.html

scroll down to:

ImgView
Allows preview of graphic image using Quickview. Right-context menu on
graphic files.

Download from this link:

Download: pcmimgvw.zip (~460 kb)

Site with use info:

C:\Program Files\Imagevw\How to___ Use Spry-ImageView.htm

Love the intro! Don't know if I will be using the pcmag ImgView
program you suggest, but I want to say thank you anyway for
sharing. :)

Ps: ImgView v.1 is so old (1996) it seems to be one of the very few
pcmag/Ziff-Davis utilities left without a "no-distribution" clause
attached to it (as most of their utilities dated 1998 and onwards
seems to have).

All the best,

From my Graphics1 page:
ImageView Adds Quick View support for seven types of graphics file formats:
GIF (.GIF files) JPEG (.JPG files) Kodak PhotoCD (.PCD files) PCX (.PCX
files) PNG (.PNG files) TARGA (.TGA files) TIFF (.TIF files) Lost the
original QuickVu?
