Older software: runtime error 217

Can't run software that installs and runs on 98 on my XP
laptop. Get a runtime error 217. How can I get around
this? Thanks Ed
 
Hi,

Have you tried using compatibility mode? Start/all
programs/accessories/program compatibility wizard?

Check with the program vendor for WinXP compatibility? Possibly the program
may require an update or an upgrade.
