Old User Accounts

I have two user accounts that i dont need any more i try to delete them and the says that it cannot delete indez 256 because it is being used by another person. The other one just says access denied. I have tried going to user accounts and deleting them there, but there is only my current account and my mothers. please help!

If this is XP Home you must login to the Administrator
account by booting into Safe mode . . . tap-tap-tap the F8
key at startup prior to the Windows logo screen and take
the Safe mode option . . .
