'Old Style' Notification in Outlook 2003

Steve Roberts

I just upgraded a bunch of users to outlook 2003. The users are complaining
that when email arrives and they are away from their desk, Outlook doesn't
put the big box in the middle of the screen telling them that they Have new
mail and would they like to view it now. Is there a way to do this or a
replacement other that the envelope in the systray?

Thanks

Steve

Only thing I can find is the Desktop Alert, but the max time this can stay
on screen is 30secs, so probably no use if someone is in a meeting for an
hour! Not sure if there is a way to change this default timing.

While you can't choose a time longer than 30 seconds via the graphical
interface, you can adjust the registry setting. See my post from back in
January:
