old hard drive in new comp.

I am installing a old hard drive that has windows xp home installed already
into a different computer. It keeps asking to run microsoft xp registration
at startup but when I allow it to run it comes back right away with the
mesage "Already registered please hit next" When I next out it brings me
back to the log in page and it's just a viscious circle. What's it trying to
do? How do I get passed this .Thanks.

You need to do a Repair install. See
