I have not personally had much luck with them. It's been my
experience that if it was designed to run in a Windows environment, it
will run well on XP. If it needs true DOS, then I find it less
compatible. When testing XP, I could usually get the software to run,
but sound was the big issue.

Others may report better results. I didn't get that. I was really
wanting to get my old copy of Privateer and/or Wing Commander III out,
but never could get them to run properly on XP.

Probably not what you wanted to hear, but you deserve an honest
answer. Is there anyone who has had better luck who would care to
chime in?

HI,

some of my friends did an Dual-Boot ( win98 / WinXp )
With a lot of blood and sweat i got some great results
with the compilation assistant ( sorry, due beeing native
German / Dutch speaker I couldn´t find the exact word ;) )
There you have 2 choices.. Convert the exe when it is
installed
2nd due it with the Setup.exe on the CD or Disk.
Solved the Problems of the most Programms ( Eden from Cryo
and Birthright from Sierra) the only Programm still beyond
my reach are Daggerfall and Blood...

Hope I could help you a bit.
