old computer upgrade

Hi
I have an old computer w/ intel pentium II processer, 3 gig hard drive, and
96 mb of ram. its old, i know, but can i make it run on win xp?

XP minimal hd capacity is 5GB,ram should be 512mb,256mb would be pushing
it...Either way,a new hd can be had for 35.00 or less,for ram try looking for
used,some pc shops have it & it only collects dust.

Put win98 on it
