I just installed Outlook 2003 on a new laptop (I've been using it on a
previous laptop without this problem). I have Word 2003 selected in Outlook
to edit my email messages (in the Tools:Options:Mail Format menu). When I
attempt to create a new email signature using the Advanced Edit option (to
open Word as the editor), Word Pad is launched instead of Word. I have
searched all the menus, the Knowledge Base and archives here, scratched my
head 'til I'm nearly bald... I can't come up with a solution. I've always
had Word launch with the press of that button before. And I'd like it to do
it again! Any thoughts?

Thanks...

In IE, try Tools | Internet Options | Programs -- what program is set as
your HTML editor? Also check Windows Explorer, Tools | FIle Types for the
..rtf file editor setting.

Thank You!!! Roady, you have solved the mystery! Thank you for your
knowledge and speedy assistance! I always know that you, Sue, or someone on
this newsgroup is able to help. I really appreciate your assistance...

Sue, as I said to Roady, THANK YOU!!! I am always amazed that you MVP folks
are so willing to help -- and help so generously -- in this newsgroup. I
would never have thought to look for that setting in Internet Explorer (or
the Internet Options control panel). Thank you for sharing your knowledge
and solving my mystery! You folks are the best...
