OL03 <0w#25> folder

I recently upgraded to OL03. I now have a new folder in
the "All Mail Folders" pane with a blank name. Right-
clicking suggests that the name is <0w#25>. I can't do
open, close, view, anything with this folder. Doing so
always produces an error alert. Any idea of (a) what
this folder is for and/or (b) how to get rid of it?

Thanks.

What error message do you get?

I have the same thing and only recently (noticed it today). I didn't
upgrade, started new.

I get the error message...
Unable to expand the folder. The set of folders could not be opened.

If I try to "close" it....
You cannot close the mailbox that contains your calendar, contacts, and
inbox.

Thoughts?

This doesn't sound like the same thing. ChrisJ's was a mail folder. Yours sounds like a top-level set of folders. Please clarify.

I can confirm that mine is at top level folder. I can see it both in the
"mail" pain, and the "Folder list". I'd suggest ChrisJ check to see if he
has it in the "Folder List" view as well.

It IS a top level folder in the All Mail Folders pane.
It appears as a peer folder to all the other root folders
from all the .pst files I have loaded

If I try to open it, I get the following error

"The set of folders could not be opened. The requested
information store could not be found in the active
profile."

If I try to expand the folder, I get the following error

"Unable to expand folder. The set of folders could not
be opened."

The "Show Help>>" says

This error usually appears if the OST or PST file you are
using is:
Unavailable
Protected with file permissions
On a share on a server and the network is down
Corrupt
To correct this problem, store the OST or PST file on the
local computer.
You may also want to run the scanost.exe and scanpst.exe
tools to verify file integrity.
More information about this error message online.

If I try to close the folder, I get the following error

"You cannot close the mailbox that contains your
calendar, contacts, and inbox."

The primary inbox is actually in a different main/root
folder; the one typically named Personal Folders.
However, I did notice that the Contacts, Calendar and
Tasks folders were longer under the "Personal Folders"
folder as they were in OL2002.

I'm kind of thinking that maybe this folder is used to
hold the Contact, Calendar and Tasks, but that it should
be hidden. I don't know, however, which .pst file the
data really exists in.

Hope this additional information helps.

To assist with troubleshooting I no longer have any .pst files connected to
Outlook03. The folder <0w#25> remains. Seems it must be a part of the .ost
file. I'm rarely connected to the LAN/Exchange server so I can't remove the
..ost and rebuild it as a test.

it's a ghost pst. upgrading seems to mess up the profile and leaves the
ghosts. the easiest way to fix it is to make a new profile.
