OL on desktop & laptop: downloading emails twice

G

Guest

I have Outlook 2003 on my desktop and laptop, but have only been using it on
the desktop. I just got a program to keep two PST files in sync, so I first
copied my PST to the laptop. When I opened the laptop OL, everything was
there and in the right place.

But when it did a send/receive, the laptop Outlook suddenly re-downloaded
179 emails still on my ISP server. Although the emails were as old as two
weeks, OL gave them all a date of today. Some I'd already read & deleted,
some were still in my Inbox, so now I have a confusing situation with
duplicate emails that are days apart, etc.

What should I do/configure to prevent this from happening?

Thanks for any help!

Don't keep the messages on the server or configure the Inbox folder not to
sync through third party tool.
