OL-07 Reinstall? Error with mspst.32.dll

OL 2007 keeps crashing and closing -have had problems for about a week.
Today's problem is related to the mspst32.dll file, Version 12.0.6316.5000.
After trying to use scanpst.exe and the Repair feature in Programs and
Features, (rightclick and hit 'Change'), both did NOT work to repair the
program. If I try to reinstall from purchased disc to repair the damaged
files will I lose all previous emails and WAB?

I've had many problems with virii and have always used reputable AV
programs, Norton, TrendMicro, Kasp09 but someone keeps on sneaking in the
backdoor and creating havoc. Just lost a complete address db of Excel. I do
NOT use wireless connections any longer, but the problem w/ 'backdoor
intrusions' still persist. Any help will be most appreciated. Thanks

That file version is one updated in an Office sp april 07.
Outlook doesnt use a wab file & hasnt since pre 2000 version
All outlook data is contained in a *.pst file(s), even uninstalling Outllook
doesnt remove the data
scanpst.exe is the repair tool for the data file, it has no impact on
Outlook itself

If you insert your Office disk you will be given the option to repair. Try
that

The AV's you mention are all reputable so you shouldnt have problems, unless
you ignore warnings, or there are other users involved, however I notice you
fail to mention any malaware tools.
If you suspect your PC is compromised there is little point in trying to
repair any program untill you know its clean

DL,

Thank you for your response. I tried the 'Repair' function with the
original disk but that didn't work. Outlook is now opening and shutting down
immediately. I have well over 90 events since last week in Problems and
Solutions. In looking at the Cmptr Mgmt diagnoses, there are >86,000 logged
events within 7 days, and >88,000 over all. Something is bothering this
machine! The events are all over the place...Admin=87112, Admin=12932,
Operational=2, Another Admin...46,077. At this point I'll try a System
Restore, unfortunately SR only goes back to 01/13/08 when Windows installed
an update.

I need some serious help here. I've had nothing but problems with Vista the
last reformat after a harddrive was destroyed from a virus was 10/26/08.
After a new hard drive was installed by factory auth. dealer. He said he
didn't have the exact version of Vista for this Toshiba laptop but installed
what he had. Things have been okay - a bit iffy but not THIS BAD since
reformatting.

I can't believe this is happening again. I just rebuilt all databases and
reloaded all digital photos (well over 3,000 photos) at least I've gotten a
bit smarter and have been saving things on CD's and typing out the Address
Book list.

Any more advice out there? Thanking in advance!

Carol

Since you had major work done its a little difficult to know what exactly
they did, or what they did in reinstalling Vista, I find it a little odd the
reference to "exact Version", if it was an authorised repair centre I would
have expected them to install back to factory specs, not only Vista, but all
Tosh drivers.

As it is it sounds like you primary problem is with either Vista or your
laptop hardware, is your Tosh still under warranty?

I must say OS is more stable today. Agree that Factory Authorized Dealer
should not be installing anything but the original stock and specifications,
but it happened, evidently. I have yet to uninstall and re-install the orig.
Outlook 07 disc but machine is acting better probably because I haven't tried
using the program. I did have to re-install Kasp AV last night and today.
Someone had reverted the high security settings to very low, if existent at
all, and it's the third time it's been rendered in-operable.
