Okidata Microline 590 problem

At our business we have been using our accounting software (Data Pro) with Windows 98se and an Okidata ML 590 which worked great. Last week we got a newer and faster computer with Windows XP, installed our accounting software and hooked up the ML 590. Now I cannot get it to print certain custom forms in the software such as payroll checks which are 7 inches long. It does the 11" reports and things just fine. I have adding another printer icon with different settings and created a custom form in the print server as described in the Microsoft Knowledge base. I have also tried setting the Printer hardware settings, but no dice. I use the Epson emulation on the Okidata. The Okidata site says that the built-in Unidriver in XP should work, but it doesn't. Data Pro called me today and told me that Okidata printers just won't work with XP. Any suggestions?
