OK to delete update files

As a result of my updates, I have a lot of folders with names like "$NtUninstallQ815485$", and they are all in blue. I suppose they are needed if I ever decide to uninstall the updates, but I would like to free up the space they are taking on my hard drive. If I ever did need them, I don't know of anything that would tell me that I need to use them or tell me how to use them anyway.

* Is it OK to delete them?
* If so, do I just delete the folders; or is there some uninstall procedure?

Gary,

You can safely delete the folders, if you are sure that the update is
working properly. The only way to remove the update folders without rolling
back to a previous system state is to delete them as you thought. After
deleting the folders, you can also delete the associated entries in the
Add/Remove list by selecting each of them at which time you will be notified
that the selected entry is no longer available and would you like to remove
it, selecting "Yes" will then clear its entry from the list.

Just an FYI, the blue color indicates files that are in a compressed format.
