This weekend, I completed re-installing WinXP on a larger hard drive. I
copied and pasted the contents of the old hard drive's Outlook folder in a
transfer file on my slave drive to the Outlook folder in Local
Settings/Application Data/Microsoft/Outlook on the New drive's Docs&Settings
for my user and I started Outlook only to find, I forgot to uninstall McAfee
before I copied the settings over so It's asking me to uninstall McAfee,
which I did NOT put on this new drive, AND I can not view my old calendar,
e-mail and/or addresses from the old pst file.
When I try to import the e-mail, etc. to the new file, Outlook tells me
that the old file is being accessed by another program. (Probably because I
copied it over to the new Drive?)
I'd like to keep the e-mail, addresses and settings, particularly because
I have been involved in an argument with HP about some sub-standard hardware
they sold me and I can not find the support info (case #, etc anywhere except
for in the e-mail)
What should I do to start fresh and access the stuff that's in the old
pst file? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Make sure the .pst file you copied is not marked read-only. And open it with the File | Open | Outlook Data File command in Outlook.
