Oh please someone help me uninstall an Orinoco Wireless card!

I am in dire straits...my Orinoco Gold 802.11b Wireless
card has been working just fine for months, but I decided
to try to upgrade my software & driver. Unfortunately I
began by trying to uninstall the driver, which did not
complete successfully. Then I downloaded the upgrade
package, for which you need to run 3 different setup
files.
http://www.proxim.com/support/all/orinoco/software/dl2002-
oricli-win-sr-02.html
The first is supposed to upgrade the driver, the second
the software, and the third the firmware. Unfortunately I
cannot get the driver to install. The Orinoco card is not
listed in my Network & DialUp connections (as it was
before), but it is listed in the Device manager with a
yellow exclamation mark which I think means the driver
isn't set up. And when I look on the driver tab, it
says "no driver files have been loaded or are required for
this device". When I try however to "update driver", the
system finds the driver and looks like it is installing
it, but at the end says "An error occured during the
installation of this device. The name is already in use as
either a service name or a service display name." I am
guessing this is a result of the incomplete uninstall and
that I have to edit the registry or something to
completely get rid of it before I can start over. The same
thing happens with "reinstall driver" and when I try
to "uninstall" the driver, I get an error saying "Failed
to uninstall the device. This device may be required to
boot up the computer."

I have restarted the computer several times, and at one
point after I thought I'd successfully uninstalled the
card (because it disappeared from my "Network & Dial-Up
Connections") I got the "Add new hardware" wizard and it
said it found something like a "WAN Minipoint" and tried
to install it. I think it may have thought that is what my
wireless card was?

Aaaaaack! Please help me!

Try reinstalling the original driver, then do the upgrade. From your
description of the upgrade package, it looks like the upgrade is supposed to
be done over or on the existing driver.

Of course, you may have messed up things enough that you will have to use
regedit to complete the uninstall of the original driver before you reinstall
it. I can't help you with that, if my suggestion doesn't work, repost
requesting help using regedit to uninstall the driver.

Good luck.
