Hi, I am running XP Pro SP1, and bc I was trying to be too smart for
my own good and look at my recently opened files, I accidentally
changed the file association for ega.cpi.

When trying to open it by right-clicking, I accidently checked the box
that said "Always" use notepad.

I have searched but can't find posts with what the ORIGINAL
program/files that opens .cpi files.

I know how to change file associations in explorer (tools-folder
options-file types-advanced), but I dont know what to change it TO!

Can someone help me find out the original setting? There should be
two: one to Edit the file (this I think was always Notepad), and one
to Open it (???).
Please also let me know if one of these should be set to Default
(bolded) or if neither should.

Also, I think this is just the language applet for the keyboard
(accents, etc), but if anyone out there knows more than I do and can
tell me whether i've really messed something up, I would appreciate
it!
Thanks

Google does show that ega.cpi has something to do with fonts, and the
links refer to MS-DOS. However, the easiest thing to do is just do a
System Restore to before you tinkered.
