If Internet Explorer or Outlook Express are Offline and you select File,
Check for Updates MSAS goes into limbo. If you try to intervene you get
a Not responding message. Most programmes have a Connect prompt. Is this
a bug?
 
Actually it isn't a bug since MSAS was coded using Visual BASIC and utilizes
IE to check for and download the updates. Since Visual BASIC isn't as robust
as other programming apps we have to expect that there are limited ways to do
this

Since MS is taking a very long time to release Beta 2, it's possible that
they are not only adding multiple user account support, but are also changing
the source code to a much more robust programming language.

It's certainly been a source of confusion--which is pretty close to a bug.
I don't know how/whether this will change with beta2, but posting your
feeling about how the program should work here helps.
