I go to folder options and I cannot find the option to
enable offline files. I have XP home.

Hi - Offline Files doesn't exist in XP Home, only in XP Pro.
Personally, since I don't like Offline Files anyway, I'd suggest you check
out a third party option: Second Copy 2000 (from www.centered.com). I think
it works better in general.

How do I get my laptop and desktop, both running Windows XP, (but the laptop
runs Home and, Desktop runs Pro) to exchange info with each other? I want to
be able to share my Works files, calendar files, Quicken, favorites,
Pictures. What is Second Copy 2000? How does that work?

What is briefcase for? Can I use that? How do I use that? What is
Synchronize? Is that an option for me?

SecondCopy 2000 is a backup program. It's pretty flexible and useful for
such a low price. I use it on a lot of my clients' machines. Look here

Get the answers to the above questions by looking in XP's Help &
Support. Once you've read about what these items are and what they do,
you can decide if they are an option for you.
