Hi All,

I have windows 2000, windows XP and Windows XP pro PCs and
none of them have the offline folders tab available under
tools -> folder options. How do I get this tab? I have
been searching TechNet to no avail...any help would be
greatly appreciated.

Matt Bruce

In the share folder, in the sharing tab, click the caching button, is there
the "Allow caching ..." activated

Here is the odd part, I am using NTFS...any other ideas?

Thanks.

Yes. I can configure the caching but I cannot enable
offline files on the connecting PCs...according to MS
there should be an "offline files" tab in my computer ->
tools -> folder options which would allow me to turn on
offline files but that tab is missing on my win2k,XP and
XP pro PCs....

On the client side there if you enable "Manual caching... " on the server,
you must especify wich files you want to be able to use off line, to do that
you must select the file with the explorer and you a right click to activate
the option on the pop up menu.

You are right, there must be a tab on the computer -> tools -> folder.

Another thing you could check on your client side is, if the actual lan
conection is activated to use off line files, you could check this using
Start->Programs->Accesories->Synchronize-> Config (the options could have
different names - I use the spanish version of w2k).

Well, I have the tab available now (for some reason it was
disabled in the registry) but all the options are greyed
out so I can see the settings but cannot enable them....

Thanks for your help,
