Offline Files Problem

I have a windows server 2003 domain, with some XP Pro
laptops. These laptops are using offline files to sync
personal drives and My Documents (which are redirected to
a server share). Every 20 minutes or so, the offline
files icon shows up in the taskbar and a balloon tip
opens stating "You are no longer connected to "SERVER"
and working offline." You can right click on it and hit
syncronize or it will usually do it on its own within a
few minutes.

Problem is that while this icon is in the taskbar, the
user has no access to network shares. He can open a unc
path, but it appears empty. Once the offline files icon
goes away, the shares are fine again.

I thought for sure it would be a wireless network
problem, but I plugged into the network for a day and had
the same problems. I don't think it is a problem on the
workstations because it happens on all of them. I keep
leaning towards a configuration problem on the server. I
raised the idle disconnect time for the file server from
the default to 8 hours.

Please help if you can.

Thanks,
Pete
