Hello,

Small Business Server 2003, Windows XP clients.

I am having some problems with Offline Files on some of my computers. I had
users on notebooks connected to a domain and utilized offline files so they
could work when not in the office. I then installed a new server (SBS so its
a whole new domain) with the same server and domain names as the old server.
When I connected the notebooks to the new domain, the files synch okay, but
there are a bunch of then that are listed in the offline files folder as
'only local copy exists' or 'local copy data has been modified'. Even when I
tried one another notebook to delete all offline files then re-establish
online files and run a synch, I still get the message. I am sure that on the
first notebook, the one I haven't yet turned off offline files and turned
back on, that the reason those files show that status, is because they have
been created or modified since the last synch. The problem is that I have
synched multiple times and, although the synch says it worked, those files
still report that status. What should I do about this? What I was thinking
was to copy those files that cant seem to synch to a new folder, delete all
offline files, re-establish the offline files, then add those files back.
The problem is that I cannot copy files from the offline files folder to the
temporary folder. When I try, I get the following error message:

Cannot copy file: Cannot read from source file or disk.

I am worried if I delete offline files, I will lose these new ones, so I
have not done that yet. Any ideas would be most appreciated. Thanks,

Chris
