Offline files/folders synchronisation problem

Hi

We have a sbs 2003 premium server. I setup offline folder synchronisation on
a client's laptop. This worked fine for months but has now become
temperamental and does not synchronise files properly. This is specially
frustrating when client is visiting abroad with the laptop and can not see
the files offline. What can I do from here to re-establish a solid
synchronisation process?
