Help, my computer had a hiccup. My OS is XP Pro and I also have or had
Office XP pro with frontpage. Tried to access a word file and it tries to
intall some kind of "feature". It did that with excel and everything else
too. Got past that and I am stuck. Each time I try to access a .doc or .xl
file it tries to install "office xp with frontpage" but cannot. Error
message is to see "set up.hlp" in folder 1033 in office. It is not there,
can't find it anywhere.......Am assuming the PROPlUS file it refers to is an
installer of some sort. What now? Your input is desperately needed.
Thanks................

Have you tried putting the Office CD in the drive and letting the installer
finish.

Would have if I had it. It grew legs and walked off at some point in time.
Probably got lost in the move. Any other suggestions?

Hi,

You will need the original CD to let the installer install the adiditional
feature it needs to run. if you had installed the entire office then you
wouldnt be in this situation now.

Uh.......It was installed entirely. I have been running this system for well
over a year. This problem surfaced after the last update installed from
microsoft, which does not make me a happy camper. I did not realize that the
new service packs and other things were done using .net. I hate "net". Past
experience with that program was not good. I know that I am not the first
one to have this problem according to a tech article I read on ms two days
ago. What are they going to do to fix it?

I believe this is going to solve the problem. I will let you know how it
goes. I was not aware that this was an isolated incident. Thank you very
much for the help, it is greatly appreciated.
