Hi Guys and Girls,

I have just changed laptops and having hassles getting the new one to accept
my outlook.pst from the previous machine. I am running the same office
package.

I have never had this problem beforeand have tried everything I know so I'm
stumped.

I copied the file to a disk and when I try import it it tells me I don't
have access to copy the file. I have tried logging on as the adminstrator but
this does not help. I have administrative rights on my log in. If I try copy
the file to my desktop it says the following: cannot copy outlook:(cyclic
redundancy check)

Any suggestions???

Thanks

James

Right click on the .pst file. Is "read only" ticked? If so, untick it.

If you are getting a CRC error that would indicate that the file is
corrupt.

Exporting or Importing is never the way to transfer/copy a pst.
With OL closed copy/burn pst to cd.
Copy from cd to any suitable location on the HD, do NOT overwrite any
existing pst. Ensure read only flag is off, then in OL File>Open......browse
to pst.
Set it as default if required and close old pst

A CRC check problem usually means a corrupt file. Also Outlook question -
such has how best to migrate Outlook data, are best posted to an Outlook
newsgroup. Look under microsoft.public.outlook.
