office xp excell

I installed office xp but when Im in excell and pull up
the 3-D shapes - the menue is not highlighted so I am
unable to access these shapes. What do I need to do?

First you must have an object to work upon.

Use the Drawing Toolbar to draw an object, say a square, then hit the 3-D
shapes button.
