office slow on a Xp client

I have a win2k nw with 120 Xp clients and 60 win98. The nw works fine and
also my servers.

I have 1 problem I can't solve, if I open a .xls , make some changes and
save it on a share, it take's 1 min. from a Xp client
on a win98 client it takes 1 sec. on that same share....strange
it's like excel hangs when it try's to save

Anyone has an answaer for this one?

check the hardware settings. for example, configure all of the computers'
network cards for half duplex. Most Hubs don't support full duplex

Yes, the nw config is ok, I'm sure of that, I can move 10MB in 1 sec from a
local source to a nw-share.
