Mapped Drive - Marina Roos

Hi Marina, here is the correct problem,

I have win2k srvr and win98,win2k clients. Some of the
shared folder is mapped to win98 clients. Win98 clients
are taking advantages of this shared folder as mapped
network drive. The problem is if they are not using their
computer for more than 3 hours(approx), then this mapped
network folder is no more responding. They have to restart
the PC to get back the things. Only TCP/IP protocol is
installed on client machines. I disable the power saving
mode of the network card still same problem.

How many nics in the server? Is WINS installed on the server? Shared folders
should preferably only sit on a server, not on a client.
Does the ipconfig/all from the clients show that everything is pointing to
the server-IP?

Hi Marina,
I have 2 NICs and only One connected to the switch/Hub.
Wins Installed, Ipconfig/all everything is ok.
I can access the server from client through Network
neighborhood/Network Places, but only "mapped network
folder as Drives" is not functioning.

What is the 2nd nic doing? Can you give me the ipconfig/all from the server?
What OS on the clients?
