office save as default path

Apeil

Hello-
When you click on 'save as' in office 2000 products it
defaults to my documents folder. Ive been able to change
that default path in all office apps except for outlook.
MS documents that this path in outlook can only be
changed in the registry. And did not give the key. Anyonw
know what key this is?

Emails to me are welcome.
thanks

Hi April,

Try the following:

1. Close all programs, click "Start", and click "Run".

2. In the Open box, type "regedit" (without the quotation marks), and then
click
"OK".

3. Locate the following registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\Security

4. Right-click this key and click "Export" to export this key to a .reg file
for
backup. We can double click the file to recover this key later.

5. Double-click "OutlookSecureTempFolder" in the right pane.

6. Change the value to the path you want. For example: "G:\DDS".

7. On the "Registry" menu, click "Exit".

8. Restart Outlook.

Regards,

Ken Simmons
