Office netwrok problem

Hi,
I have a bunch of connected PCs operating XP Pro SP1. All use automatic IP.
All the systems manage to see and access each other according to the allowed
shares. However, only one system can access but is not accessible by other
systems. The error message is some times: ACCESS DENIED and other times YOU
HAVE BEEN GRANTED THE RIGHT ON THIS NETWORK RESOURCE IN THIS COMPUTER (well,
something similar.)
Because this is the case only since a few days, I compared the local
security policy and the users rights assignments on the defective machine
with another healthy one. They are identical.
Any clue girls or guys out there (no heart feeling!)
Thanks.

Hi Yba,

You mean to say that this issue is intermittent ?. If not, I would suspect a
firewall issue.

Have you temporarily disabled Windows XP's firewall to test this ? Please
also make sure to disable any softwares like Norton Internet security/ Zone
alarm.

Your problem could be that you have reached the max limit that you can have
in sharing XP Pro. You are limited to a max of 10 in Pro.

often overlooked, if the user account currently logged in does not have a
password then it can not participate in file sharing.
