What happened to hte Compare and Merge function that was in PowerPoint 2003.

Is there a cross reference somewhere to the 2003 to 2007 functions?

For future reference... not to get your hopes up for Compare and Merge...
because it's not available in 2007 :-(

To get around it, I saved both as Word outlines and used the Compare option
on the Review tab. Once you have it the way you want it, save and close and
then open PowerPoint and from the PowerPoint open option, choose All Outlines
as the files of type and then save as a presentation.

To send presentation text to Word - Office Button, Publish, Create Handouts
in Microsoft Office Word, Outline Only

Hope this helps...

Good suggestions. Adobe Acrobat also has a compare feature, so printing as
PDF can be a good comparison tool also.

I don't have a full version of Acrobat :-( so I can't try it for myself, so
just out of curiosity... once you compare and save, does it open back in
PowerPoint ok?

No. It's just a method to compare, then make whichever changes necessary on
the PPT file.
