Office 2003 "stops working" under Vista

I've recently (2 months ago) migrated to Vista.

Very regularly I get the message from Outlook 2003 that:
"Microsoft Outlook has stopped working. Microsoft is checking for a solution
to this problem and you will be notified if a solution is available".
've never had any notification.
This level of reliability is not acceptable to me and I very much regret my
migration from XP. Does anyone else have similar experiences?

Was this an upgrade from XP or a clean install from Vista?
What is being logged to the Event Viewer regarding this?

No. It was a clean install on a new machine (Vista Ultimate).

I just want to use an email system. How would I look at the Event Viewer?

Press the Start logo and in the search box type Event Viewer
