When I hit the spacebar the curser moves to the centre of the page and enters
a symbol. This happens on all word docs old and new. Any ideas

What is the symbol? Is the paragraph centered? Force-justified?

The symbols are dots (full stops) and there are three. The template is left
justified

Is it really three full stops (three separate characters) or an ellipsis
(character 2026)? I still have no clue why it would be doing this, but let's
at least figure out what's being inserted.

Suzanne, Thank you for trying to help me. I was asking the question for a
work mate. He brought his laptop in to me today and the actual problem is
nothing like what he described to me. The problem was that whilst typing and
when he hit the space bar to separate words it inserted a character mark
(space). Problem solved. Sorry.

Why am I not surprised? <g?
