Offical docs for DC numbers?

Can anyone direct my to some official Microsoft documentation that states
how many DC's should be at a site?

I am at a small company with 4 Win2K servers at the main location. All are
currently DC's and I am trying to justify demoting one or two of them back
to member servers. Thanks in advance.

There are no strict rules for this but you can use the ADSizer tool to work
out your Domain Controller requirements.
