OEM Clone

Hi

I have 7 OEM licenses and 7 equal computers in hw and they are to be equal
in SW as well. How Can I make a clone after setting up the first computer as
I want adn then use this clone to make the 6 other machines equal?

Without beeing banned by microsoft and stamped as beeing an Pirat. How can I
after cloning validate a cloned computer and make sure it gets its correct
product key (one of the seven I have) to avoid having several machines with
the same product key.

I have heard aboute a tool called Sysprep but do not know much aboute it, I
know it needs some info aboute HAL and APIC or something, but what is that
and where do I get this info?

Thanks in advance

Best regards

I would suggest getting a cloning tool (Drive Image, Ghost, Acronis) to do
this job.

If the machines are identical and it's an OEM copy then they shouldn't need
re-activating. If they do, then you can change the product key on the 'Phone
Microsoft' option screen.

As for piracy, if you have a licence for each computer then you are legal.
(this might vary in different countries of course)

Sysprep is not ideal for this job because it intentionally creates a 'noobie
user' situation intended for retail computer duplicating. You can get round
this to some extent with a Default Profile but the user-accounts will still
have to be re-established.

If you're concerned about SIDs being identical then http://sysinternals.com
has a tool called NewSID. In any case, the question of SIDs being identical
really only arises when other bad security practices are in use, for example
the sharing of the whole of C: drives under administrator accounts.
