While it's true that there is a newsgroup specific to OE6, it is part of IE6
which is (at least when it suits Microsoft's purpose) part of the OS, so
inquiries here are logical. Referrals are not overly helpful, especially
since there seems to be little traffic in the specialized newsgroup and
questions, in my experience, don't get answered there.

Hope this helps.

Cobblers. post questions to the RELEVANT group. OE questions are NOT
relevant to Windows XP. There are LOADS of questions that get answered
in the OE groups.

If you say so. And yet, one of the biggest topics here, in terms of mail
volume, relates to Windows XP updates that disable features in OE. For
users who logically come here with questions about such things, it is
frustrating to get only a response from the Topic Police, and then go to the
OE newsgroup and get no response at all.

My suggestion: if you have the answer, give it along with a reference to
the other newsgroup. If you don't have the answer, move on.

Windows updates do NOT disable features in OE. The update you are
referring to is IE SP1. That's an Internet Explorer update, not a
Windows Update.

Why do you think that MS hosts separate newsgroups for both IE and OE?

<Ahem> Far more questions are answered in OE6 newsgroup (73%) than this one
(66%).

The 1,626 posts in OE6 newsgroup in the past 7 days is a considerable amount
of traffic IMHO and my 220+ replies during the same period were indeed
answers.
